Social Structure
Information |
Social structure in medieval Europe is very different to present-day social structure. Europe was divided into a hierarchy, the wealthy and powerful at the top whilst the poor and needy at the bottom. Due to this social hierarchy, discrimination was not uncommon. Powerful people often mistreated the lower ranks. The king was the highest rank with the other nobles such as the queen, prince(s) and princess(es).

social life |
Life of a person depended solely on what tier they were in on the hierarchy. The king and other royal members lived very easily with food granted to them at any times. Lower ranked people like peasants and freeman were the complete opposite, many of them barely earning enough money to feed their family. Nobles and occupational people lived much more easier than peasants as they often had a reasonable amount of money which allowed them to buy resources.
